Horses for the Senses hosted by Region 1 presented by Patricia McGill

Horses, and their surroundings, provide a rich sensory experience for the people who seek them out. As therapeutic horsemanship professionals, we have the opportunity to help people with sensory challenges learn self-regulation skills. Join us to learn more about teaching self regulation with the help of our horses.

Learning objectives include: 1) To identify possible signs of hypoarousal and hyperarousal in our students 2) To identify strategies for calming or alerting students 3) To identify ways to meet our own sensory needs 4) To apply concepts of sensory processing to our horses

Presenters: Christina Richardson, OTR/L, CTRI, Maine State Chair and Sara Gagliarducci, MS, OTR/L, CTRI; Patricia McGill Eastern Canada Chair
